The Lockhorsterbos is a nature reserve between Leusden and Amersfoort. It lies on the dividing line between the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and the Eem valley. The area is bordered on the east by Leusden and on the north by the A28. The western border is formed by a railway line that is only used for the transport of cars of car company Pon. Adjacent to the area is the 15-hectare estate estate Heiligenberg. A 4 kilometer long hiking trail has been set out through the area.
