The church was built in the 16th century on the site of an older church and had to be restored after being destroyed in the disaster year 1672. In 1964, the church and the tower underwent restoration. Since 1972, both the church and the tower have been listed as national monuments in the monument register.
The single-nave late Gothic cross church has a five-sided closed choir. The wooden barrel vaults are fitted with tie beams. The tower has a brick arch frieze and an entangled spire. In the belfry hangs a bell from 1682 made by G. Schimmel. The mechanical tower clock has been taken out of service.
