Zwarte Noord, also known as Zwartenoord, is a nature reserve on the east bank of the river Eem near Eemdijk in the province of Utrecht.
The Eem is an ecological connection zone between the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and the Eemmeer. The province of Utrecht is striving for a richly vegetated connection zone. The policy is aimed at introducing variation in the adjacent nature reserves by creating swamps, barren land and moist roughland and some flowery grassland on the somewhat higher dry drier parts. On the east side of the Eem, De Zwarte Noord, the more northerly Bekaaide Maat and the Bruggematen near Eembrugge have the highest natural values.
The area in the floodplain has been designed with an elevated water level to make it attractive to certain bird species. Natuurmonumenten is the owner/manager of the area.
