The Omar Al-Farouk Mosque is a mosque on Winterboeidreef in Utrecht. The building was originally constructed as the Roman Catholic Emmaus Church.
The Emmaus parish was founded in 1962 for Catholics in the new housing district of Overvecht. The building pastor was W. Span. In the first years, a kindergarten and a temporary church were used on Donaudreef. In 1966-1967, the modernist church building was constructed on Winterboeidreef, designed by J.P.I. Maas of the Kraayenvanger agency. The church had 750 seats. On September 23, 1967, the church was consecrated by Cardinal Bernardus Alfrink. This was one of the last completely new Roman Catholic churches built in the Netherlands.
