Town hall of Kamerik

In 1949, the Kamerik municipal council commissioned the Woerden architect H.B.M.J. Worst to design the town hall. Worst came up with a design for a building in the Delft School style in 1952, and this was accepted by the council. From 1953 to 1955, construction was carried out by the Kamerik construction company v/h J.J.R. Boers. The total costs for the construction and furnishing amounted to approximately 195,000 guilders. On June 4, 1954, the first stone was laid by the aforementioned Queen's Commissioner Reinalda, and on September 23, 1955, his successor C.Th.E. Count of Lynden van Sandenburg opened the new town hall together with Mayor Breen.

The building served as the town hall until the dissolution of the municipality of Kamerik in 1989. Afterwards, it was sold to the Algemene Christelijke Politie Bond and has since been used as an office. Recently, the former town hall has been restored, including the rare stained glass windows, which were donated by the Food Supply Committee in Wartime.
