Huize Windekind, also known as Villa Windekind, was built in the years 1927-1928 according to a design by architect Dirk Roosenburg. The client was François van 't Sant, the chief commissioner of police in The Hague and later a confidant of Queen Wilhelmina. Huize Windekind is built on a steep slope that was created after the construction of the Westbroekpark. As a result, the building has four floors. The staircase is placed in the middle of the house. The base, or ground floor of the house, protrudes into the slope. The dining room is located on the ground floor. The first floor is entirely set up as a living room. The bedrooms are situated on the second floor. The garage is built inside the house.
