The harbor of Harlingen is the main harbor of Friesland. The sea port is located on the Wadden Sea.
The harbor service was long part of the municipality of Harlingen. As of 2018, the service was privatized. The company Port of Harlingen has since been responsible for economic development, management, maintenance, and operation of the harbors of Harlingen.
