The Lower Mill is a former watermill on the Roode Beek in Schinveld, located on the Brunssumerstraat.
The mill is located downstream of the confluence of Roode Beek and Merkelbekerbeek. It was built in 1771. In 1883 part of it was demolished and an outbuilding was erected. In 1913 the wheel was replaced by a turbine. A new mill and a sawmill were built. Rye in particular was ground. There was also an oat crusher. In 1928 the turbine was replaced by a larger one and later an electric motor was added.
