The Prince Claus Bridge is a steel cable-stayed bridge over the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal within the city of Utrecht, designed by Ben van Berkel, who became well-known as the designer of the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam. The originally conceived name for this bridge was Papendorp Bridge, but residents of Kanaleneiland suggested naming the bridge after Prince Claus. Princess Máxima opened the bridge, named after her father-in-law, on June 25, 2003.
