Scheveningen Radio or Radio Scheveningen was the radio station of the Netherlands for communication with ships from 1904 until 1999.
On December 19, 1904, the National Coast Station Scheveningen Radio was established. Scheveningen Radio was part of the PTT. The transmitter operated from a wooden shed on the south side of the Duindorp area in Scheveningen. Because of interference from nearby transmitters, it was partially relocated to IJmuiden. During the occupation in World War II, the station had to cease broadcasting. After the war, it continued to function until 1950. The antennas in Scheveningen were used for many years, which could cause inconvenience for nearby residents in the form of 'interference' on basic radio receivers. Even a resident nearby could listen in on his electronic organ to the outgoing traffic to the ships. On October 30, 2014, the last mast of the station Radio Scheveningen in the West Dunes near the Scheveningen neighborhood of Duindorp was dismantled.
