The Donge Valley is a nature reserve, a river valley that was excavated through the Tilburg district of Reeshof between 1996 and 2000. With this project, the Donge has been restored to its original location. The original aim of this wet nature area was for it to become part of the ecological main structure of the Netherlands. This idea has been abandoned, but the strip does connect to other green areas. The flora has largely developed from seeds that have been buried for almost a century under a thick layer of agricultural soil, since the Donge was channeled in the early twentieth century. The area has mainly been colonized by flying and swimming fauna and has been provided with grazers by the managers.
