Around 1900, many country estates were built on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. In 1901 Daniël David Stuten bought the plot of land from Huize 't Stort van Lagerwey in Woudenberg. The house was built directly on the railway line Amsterdam - Elten.
In 1906 it was renovated to the design of the architect B.C. Hamer and the house was rented to Willem Hendrik III de Beaufort, son of Willem Hendrik II de Beaufort, the owner of the adjacent Henschoten estate. In 1906 the left wing was added. In 1916 S.P. van Eeghen bought the house for his daughter, Ada Wilhelmina, the wife of W.H. III de Beaufort. A new kitchen and utility room with bedrooms were built. Many small renovations followed. In 1937 the last major renovation took place, namely the extension of a dining room on the north side by the architects C. Bos and D. Jansen. After 1975, the house was used as an office.
