Swimming pool De Krommerijn is a partly covered outdoor swimming pool in the Dutch city of Utrecht, named after the nearby river, the Kromme Rijn. The swimming pool is managed by Stichting Zwembad Krommerijn.
In the history of this swimming pool, there was already a swimming facility in the form of a natural pool on the southeast side of the city between Rijnsweerd and Amelisweerd from 1868. In July 1915, a new swimming facility was officially opened. In connection with the Circle Act, the swimming facility located near Fort Vossegat was made of wood. The swimming facility had separate swimming pools for men and women, a diving tower, grandstand, sunbathing lawn and canoe port. The water for the bath came from the Kromme Rijn, with which it was in open connection. It was used for swimming lessons and water polo competitions, among other things. Gradually, the swimming facility was also popularly called Timp, a name derived from a well-known lifeguard. Around 1925 a renovation followed. In 1957 the natural pool was closed partly because of pollution of the river by industry and rat nuisance.
