Meeuwen Castle is a partly 19th-century and 20th-century castle north of the town of Meeuwen, in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the Land of Heusden and Altena.
Castle Meeuwen was built around 1350 by Jan van Drongelen. His father, Willem van Drongelen, married to Hadewich van der Merwede, claimed the lordship of Heusden. The lord at the time was Jan van Heusden. He died in 1333. However, it was not William of Drongelen, but Count William IV of Holland who claimed this lordship for himself. As compensation, Jan van Drongelen was granted the lordship of Eethen and Meeuwen as a fief of the Count of Holland. In 1355, John also dedicated the castle to this Count to get it back on loan.
