Op het kerkhof liggen naar schatting 2.200 Canadese en 300 Britse soldaten begraven. De meesten van hen zijn gesneuveld tijdens de operatie 'Veritable' in februari/maart 1945. Onder leiding van veldmaarschalk Montgomery trokken destijds zo'n 300.000 manschappen het Duitse Rijngebied binnen. Op de nu nog druk bezochte begraafplaats staat tevens een herdenkingsteken, waarop de namen van meer dan 1.000 in Noordwest Europa vermiste Britten worden vermeld.
