Description

Matty Rijcken died in a fatal accident at this spot. The day before his death, he helped to place a new wayside cross in Rennersdael, not knowing that a cross would be placed above him the next day. According to another source, Matti would have died along the road from Partij to Mechelen, where there would also have been a cross. He was driving a tractor that flipped over. The cross in question was destroyed in the winter of 78-79.
