We, Willeke van der Stap and Pascal Rouwette, gladly welcome you to the beautiful village of Mheer, the center of the Heuvelland "the blossom of the South" and the Belgian Voer region.
As the name suggests, there used to be a blacksmith shop here, specifically a farrier. From here, horses were provided with new horseshoes. In front of the door was a deep well where the smith fetched water to cool everything down. With the advent of water supply, the well was closed off. Since 2011, the well has been excavated to a depth of 10 meters and made visible again through a glass plate.
