The St. Martin's Church of Vijlen is located along the main road of Vijlen at 195.62 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest parish churches in the Netherlands. The church is partly walled by a low wall of natural stone. The cemetery surrounds the church.
The tower of the church of Vijlen can be seen from far and wide and functions as a landmark. The church building is a national monument and dedicated to Saint Martin.
