The Protestant Church is a very old church. The construction probably consists of the 14th or 15th century.
It is a welcoming open church, where everyone is welcome. This village church is a medieval church and has a very long history that starts in the 11th century. Substantial parts of the old church are still standing. The church is still in use today.
The village church is located at some distance from the Dorpsstraat on a square. The church is surrounded by a cemetery. The single-nave nave is the oldest part of the church and still consists almost entirely of tuff. The walls contain a number of (partly reconstructed) Romanesque windows at 4 meters above ground level. The tuff walls are built in boxwork: the inside and outside of the wall consist of tuff and the space in between is filled with debris and other cheaper materials that were available. The walls are 90 cm thick and based on the underlying sand. No soil improvement has been applied.
The brick tower is built in Gothic style and consists of three sections. The middle one has two gothic lanterns, the top three of which the middle serves as a reverb. The tower is equipped with an octagonal spire and a balustrade. The Gothic brick choir is two bays deep and is closed on three sides. It contains bacon layers of tuff. The inside of the ship contains wooden pillars up to the floor level and ribbons that are connected with scallops and a flat ceiling. This construction probably dates from the 14th or 15th century.
