The Breedeweg is the most important road in the Oosterbuurt and used to be the main road from the Kerkbuurt to Uitgeest. Around 1950 there were nine houses (even numbers) on the north side of the Breedeweg from the farm of Cor Poel.
The agricultural past of the Breedeweg is clearly visible with the farms. You will find a number of (restored) bell-shaped farms in the street. At numbers 80, 75-77, 72, 67, 55 and 45. A bell jar farm is a farm type that occurs mainly in North Holland. It is a square farmhouse with a pyramid-shaped roof. Characteristic for the farmhouse is the square construction, which consists of wooden beams on which the roof rests.
