Wolfhagen, or the Scholtissenholenweg, is one of the most beautiful sunken roads in South Limburg. The slope, which starts at a beautiful monumental farm, is car-free and leads with an average gradient of 4.2% from Wolfhagen near Schinnen to Puth. The road runs through the habitat of the protected Stag Beetle, the largest beetle in Europe. The males can have a length of almost 9 cm, and have remarkably large jaws in the shape of antlers.
