Water features, art, a deer meadow, a playground... you will find it all in the green surroundings of the Kerkrade City Park. And to think that there was a landfill here at the beginning of the twentieth century! The park
was built in the 1950s on top of the former landfill, which caused the large difference in height. Originally, the park is located in the valley of the Nierspringbeek.
During the renovation in 2016, a watercourse returned to the park. Take a moment to reflect on the special artistic expressions you encounter on your path. Along the way, you can read poems by well-known Limburg poets, including some in the characteristic Kerkraadse
dialect. Also enjoy the beautiful statues, which are part of an extensive collection that adorns the public space of Kerkrade.
