Description

A large part of Breeveen consists of a plain with shrub heather flowering in August and it is surrounded by forests. The nature reserve, managed by the Utrechts Landschap, is one of the most beautiful heaths in the province of Utrecht. There are also some burial mounds half a kilometre west of Breeveen. In recent decades, the groundwater level has been significantly lowered, which has affected the vegetation.
