Care farm Molenhoek (water mill Ten Steen)

Care farm Molenhoek is located on the edge of the estate of Heeswijk Castle. Looking out over the fields in a quiet protected environment.

A beautiful place, where peace and nature determine the atmosphere.

Working in nature and with animals is known to reduce stress and be healthy for everyone. That is also the basis. From peace, cleanliness and regularity, a person comes back to his or her own being. From there, you can work on goals, talents, direction and balance!

Various animals are present at the Care Farm, including 5 ponies (from small to large) and sheep that lamb in the spring. These animals deserve all the love and attention. The tasks are also focused on these animals. Mucking out the stables, pasture care, moving the ponies to and from the pasture. Brushing and learning proper care are the daily activities.

There used to be a water mill Ten Steen at this location. It is drawn slightly downstream of the place where the Leigraaf originally flowed into the Aa. In the meantime, this outlet has been moved to the south and the site of the mill is called De Rietwiel. Only the street name Molenhoek is a reminder of the company that was located here for centuries.

There are plans for a renovation of the Ten Steen watermill.
