The Steinse Groen is located on the east side of Gouda sandwiched between the Gouda-Woerden railway line and the Steinsedijk. It is an elongated strip of about 200 meters wide by a length of 1250 meters. The area forms a transition between the residential area Goverwelle and the polder land.
The Steinse Groen has a 'natural' look. For example, there is a nature playground where children can clamber on tree trunks instead of on plastic climbing frames.
This makes the area very suitable to function, with the necessary adjustments, as part of the nature zone that connects the Krimpenerwaard with the Reeuwijkse Plassen.
