Locomotive 252
The Locomotor Foundation was founded on January 15, 2002 by and for Locomotor enthusiasts and focused on everything that has to do with the various versions of the Oersik and the Sik. The Foundation has recently decided to lend a locomotive to SIEMei.
It concerns the Locomotor 252. Built in 1935 by Werkspoor in Amsterdam with construction number 702. This Locomotor, better known as the goatee, entered service in the olive green color, equipped with a large bronze oval number plates and wooden running boards.
Some technical data:
– In the 1960s, the 252 got a new diesel engine. The 4-cylinder diesel engine from Ganz was replaced by a fuel-cooled 3-cylinder diesel engine from Stork-Ricardo
– In the seventies, early 80s, the 252 was given a yellow/gray color and the beautiful oval number plates were replaced by black numbers. The wooden running boards were also replaced by iron grids.
– In 1983 the Sik received a 1.5 tonne hydraulic telescopic crane. This made it possible to replace spare parts at railway yards, among other things. The crane can extend up to 6.5 meters and lift a weight of 1500 kilograms.
