The Roode Beek: not a bloody remnant of a mythical history, but a ferruginous river that is framed above Schinveld by a beautiful
nature reserve. This quiet corner of South Limburg is a humid heath and peat area, where slopes provide a sheltered environment with rare plants.
Along the way, you'll walk past serene ponds and imposing Scottish Highlanders graze in the meadows. In the valley rises an artificial hill with a
lake, laid out as a work of art. At the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the stream valley.
