The Ten Esschen junction is a traffic junction in South Limburg near Hoensbroek and connects the city motorway of Heerlen, the N281 with the A76 motorway.
The junction takes its name from the hamlet of the same name. Before the construction of the junction in 1975, the national road 76 at this town seamlessly merged into the current N281, the motorway to Aachen did not yet exist at that time. When it was finally built, the junction was built to connect the new route to the old one. It consists of only one viaduct over which two lanes and an emergency lane pass. The junction only connects the traffic flows from Geleen to Heerlen and vice versa. From Heerlen to Aachen is not possible, but also not necessary because the N281 still runs parallel to the A76 in the form of a motorway.
