Utingeradeel is a former district, later municipality in the middle of the Dutch province of Friesland. The municipality existed until 1984.
After the municipal reorganization on January 1, 1984, Utingeradeel was split into two parts. A large part was merged with the municipalities of Idaarderadeel and Rauwerderhem to form the new municipality of Boornsterhem. A small part in the southwest with the villages of Akmarijp and Terkaple was combined with a part of the municipalities of Doniawerstal and Haskerland to create the new municipality of Scharsterland, which has been called Skarsterlân since 1985.
