The Regenboogbuurt is a neighborhood in the Dutch city of Almere. The district is located in the Almere Buiten district and borders Bloemenbuurt, Indischebuurt, Eilandenbuurt and Lage Vaart. It is the most colorful neighborhood of Almere and the Netherlands.Built between 1994 and 1998 with more than 2000 houses, it was developed on the initiative of the municipality of Almere and presented at the BouwRai 1994. Project leader on behalf of the municipality of Almere was the landscape architect Hans Laumanns, originally from Rheydt-Odenkirchen in Germany.
