The Korfwater is the original settlement in and along the dunes between Petten and Sint Maartenszee. The settlement in the dunes has been replaced by a villa district in Petten, which also bears the name Het Korfwater. The row of dunes is now entirely considered part of the town of Petten. In the northern part stands the nuclear reactor of Petten. The settlement on the Westerduinweg is still referred to as the hamlet Het Korfwater.
