De Vlieger is an oak, thatched ground sailer on the Essepad in the Dutch town of Voorburg. The mill was built in 1621 for the drainage of the Veenpolder and Binkhorstpolder. The mill replaced a mill from 1461, which, in the opinion of the Water Board of Delfland and the local residents, was in a bad place. However, the new building did not solve the problems, and in 1654 it was decided to build a second peat mill which was given the name De Nieuwe Veenmolen (The New Peat Mill). In the 18th century, the name was changed and the Binckhorst mill was named after miller Arij de Vlieger.
