Description

Between Bemelen and Sint Antoniusbank, hidden in the forest, is an impressive Maria grotto. A narrow stairway leads you to this wonderful place of silence.
This memorial was carved out by monks of the monastery in Sint Antoniusbank with their own hands in the thirties of the last century. When the monks left, the Marian grotto fell into disrepair.
In 2008, a group of local volunteers refurbished the cave with an admirable result. In spring, the wild garlic blooms on the marl walls and you can light a candle on it all year round.
