The Rotterdam subway station Maashaven is a station on the line D and line E located on a viaduct at the end of the Maashaven on the south bank of the Nieuwe Maas. At Maashaven station, it's possible to transfer to tram line 2.
The station is situated at a height and has a rather impressive structure. The station hall "floats" above street level, directly beneath the platforms. Exits connect the hall directly to the tram stop. Two elevators, which were not part of the original design of the station and were installed later, lead directly from the platforms to the street.
The station opened in 1968 with the commissioning of the Rotterdam subway.
