This historic text plate of Settela Steinbach is attached to a rock surrounding an oak tree. This oak tree marks the birth place of the Sinti (subdivision of the Romani people, Indo-Aryan nomadic itenerants) girl. She was born and raised at this location in Born, what used to be Buchten. Later, she was deported and gassed in the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II. She has become an icon of the Holocaust. The picture was taken from one of the videos of her on the train from Westerbork to Auschwitz. The same video has been used many times in documentaries and movies. The oak tree become the 5th best ranked tree in the Netherlands in 2020.
