On the bank of the third fen stands this bird watching hut between the trees. From this hut you can look out in peace over the Leersumse Plassen, where about thirty different bird species occur. There is a chance that you will see the teal, the ordered grebe, a dodaars or a spectacled diver. The lakes are also inhabited by thirty species of dragonflies, such as white-beaked dragonflies and water sniffers, half of all species found in the Netherlands.
