Of the former Hulst station, only the storage shed can now be seen. This has been converted into a catering facility. The exterior has remained exactly the same. The original station was located about 20 meters east of this building. It was made up of a high middle part with two low wings and all with a gabled façade. The railway line 54 was built and operated by the private railway company "Societè Anonyme du Chemin de Fer International de Malines à Terneuzen, M-T for short, founded in 1861. The intention of the M-T was to realize a connection from the Ruhr area in Germany via Mechelen to Londen.Er both goods and people were transported. The station was opened on 27 August 1871 and closed to passengers on 18 May 1952. The goods were originally coal, beets and wood. Freight transport continued until 1968. From the station there was a connection with the tram to Walsoorden.
