In about 1917 a head (made of Nivelstein sandstone) of a Roman lady was found in Voerendaal, from a funerary monument. It would be a richer lady, because the hairstyle that was in fashion at the time was especially loved by richer ladies.
The lady was found along the road from Cologne to Boulogne-sur-Mer, the Via Belgica. A work of art has now been placed in front of the station of Voerendaal, consisting of Corten steel and filled with several tons of Nivelstener Limestone.
