In the ninth century, Vikings of different nationalities banded together as the Great Pagan Army and sailed across these waters with their immense fleet of two hundred to go on a raid.
The Vikings may have disappeared for a thousand years, but their possessions are still in the sludge in Geulle, to prove that they really were in the same place as the people are now.
