Homoet is a hamlet and former Hoge Heerlijkheid in the municipality of Overbetuwe in Gelderland. The hamlet of Homoet is located between Elst and Driel in Gelderland. The house, the centre of the former high lordship, probably stood on the current Hoge Woerd site west of the hamlet. It was probably demolished in the 15th century.
The oldest record is a charter of 4 October 1347 in which the Duke of Guelders appointed knight Jan van Homoet as ''official and ruler'' in the Over-Betuwe. Homoet held the office for which he had paid £5,498 and 16 shillings. The Duke could not remove him or his heirs from office until he had paid back. He was given the countship and obliged himself to go to war with armed men if necessary. In 1349, together with the lord of Brunchorst, among others, he guaranteed Duke Reinald under the promise of inleisting. John died c. 1350.
Small neo-Gothic hall church. The original turret was replaced in a reduced form at some point. In this church, which belongs to the Reformed Municipality of Valburg-Homoet (a congregation with a Reformed League), a church service is held (only) on the first Sunday of the month.
