The Klinkenberg is the remains of a motte castle near the village of Gees in Drenthe. The Klinkenberg is located along the Geeserstroom on the Muzelweg, near the Goringdijk.The motte castle consisted of a main castle and an outer castle and was surrounded by an eight-shaped moat. Measurements in 1847 show that the motte of the outer castle, also called Keutershoogte, was five meters high and the motte of the main castle six meters. In 1936, the outer castle and part of the main castle were excavated for sand extraction. The remaining hill is about four meters high.
