Near his home in the Eerste Nassaustraat, Wijsmuller found a beautiful scene that he captured several times. He stood on the Buitensingel and saw in the distance the double seesaw bridge that gave access to the Kattensloot. Furthermore, there were few buildings. How different it is now! The Buitensingel has long been called Nassaukade and houses have been built everywhere (Frederik Hendrikbuurt). The Kattensloot still exists. And also the bridge, although it has already been replaced by a more modern and wider one.
