Description

The Zuidvang forms the border between Gelderland and Utrecht. Before this boundary was definitively established, there was a diffuse border area. On the meadow just after the junction with the Haarweg was the historic farm Spijkerkamp until 1940. In the thirteenth to sixteenth centuries, it served as a day shipping location for administrative consultations between the Sticht Utrecht and the county and later duchy of Guelders. This historic farm was destroyed in the May days of 1940 and no longer rebuilt.
