In 1845 the Compagnie-Pussemier from Assenede (B) diked these salt marshes. The polder is named after the wife of one of the.
In the middle of the dikes was built a polder building, Het Paviljoen, where the owners sometimes stayed. One farm was built in the young polder.
Shortly after 1900, the descendants of the dikers sold the land and more farms were built.
In the early morning of 8 October 1944, Canadian soldiers came ashore at the Paulinapolder to liberate West Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. See photo.
