This country estate Villa Sanoer is characterized by a very beautiful garden in the19th century landscape style. The villa was built around 1910 by order of the De Vries family. Captain De Vries sailed on the merchant navy to the then Dutch East Indies (present-day Indonesia) and was a merchant. After his death it stood empty for some years, but after the crisis years it was bought by Mrs. Van de Westeringh for f 3000,- to start a summer pension.
The villa is one of the association houses for the male members of the Wageningen Student Association 'Ceres' and is known as the 'Burlenburgh'
