It rises southwest of the village of Reusel, on the higher Brabant Massif, and flows through the Landgoed de Utrecht and then past Baarschot and Diessen under the Wilhelmina Canal to Moergestel, after which it merges into the Achterste Stroom just south of Oisterwijk. Streams that flow into the Reusel are the Belevensche Loop, Hoevensche Loopje, Rouwenbochtloop, Raamsloop (sometimes Raamloop, in the Utrecht) and the Spruitenstroompje (south of Moergestel).
