On the edge of the Zoutevaart in the Moerbeke polder is boundary marker 296. The actual border is in the middle of the canal and is followed to the village of Overslag. From the Rodesluisweg you can see post 296 in a southerly direction. There is a curious bend in the boundary line between boundary markers 295 and 296, which is marked in the ditch by a boundary stone (295a).
The construction of a cast iron boundary post (372 kg):
At the bottom, we have an eight-sided pedestal with a height of 1 meter, more than half of which is underground. Above it is a conical pole of 1.3 meters. At the top, we see a bud in the shape of a pine cone, also known as a flame. On the pole is the year 1843 with the Belgian and Dutch coat of arms, a lion surmounted by a royal crown, facing the country in question.
