He will tell you the secrets of this location through the latest virtual techniques. It’s as if you are transforming into the past. The castle of Valkenburg is the only high castle in the Netherlands and the center of the Land of Valkenburg.
The fortress, built from marl, has been expanded and rebuilt several times, until over 600 years and many sieges later, the curtain fell.
In the fight against the French, the castle was blown up on December 10, 1672, by the State Troops led by stadtholder William III.
This way, the fortress would never again fall into enemy hands. What remained was partially looted, and now you are looking at the remaining ruins. Visit the castle ruins and get to know all the inhabitants!
Note: the location of the spear is at hotel Walram, next to the bronze model of the fortress town of Valkenburg.
