Speaking of resilience and determination! On New Year's Day 2015, the inhabitants are not fighting against the water, but against a fierce fire. The church built in 1900 is largely destroyed that day. This church had the status of a national monument from 1997 to 2019. The tower and the interior are lost, with the exception of the State Bible, the baptismal font, and the weathervane. Only the lower part of the tower and the church walls remain standing. The cause of the fire has never been determined. After a local fundraising campaign, the church was rebuilt on the same location in 2016.
