The Little Earth

The Kleine Aarde in Boxtel has been a testing ground since 1972, offering pioneers the space to experiment with ecological agriculture, sustainable energy, and alternative living. Starting in 2023, various functions will once again come together: a practice center, culture and inspiration center, debate center, education and research center, and innovation center. The combination of different functions, sectors, and actors makes this Place a unique spot.

Almost year-round (except for holidays), the EcoWork shop is open on Friday afternoons from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It offers plants (with flowers for insects), organic potting soil and compost, vegetable garden seeds (from heirloom varieties), and honey.

In spring and summer, you can find weekly inspiration at Place De Kleine Aarde in Boxtel. Every Friday afternoon from 2:30 PM, there is a guided tour (with varying themes) or another activity. On Fridays, ‘participation is free and no registration is required.’ The terrace and the Eco café are also open from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM for a cup of coffee, tea, and cake. Additionally, the shop is open (see above) and there is plenty of inspiration for sustainable gardening.
